Our experience with UberEATS
We decided to give UberEATS a try and found it to be an extremely useful service. We tried it during rush hour in the Washington DC area and less than 30 minutes we had our food. This is great! Local restaurants don’t even deliver that fast.
On the app, the photos of the food looked delicious. We were able to choose between different options: sushi, Chinese food, Mexican food, Peruvian food, and more.
We finally decided to order sushi for 2 people. The app promised it would arrive in 25 minutes and due to traffic we didn’t believe it.
The delivery cost was $4.99. We used a $10 promo code and spent about $6 to get our order delivered.
According to the app, the food would arrive at 1:51 pm and we followed the driver’s path. Our food arrived at 1:53 pm.
When our driver was already nearby, we received a confirmation much like the one you receive when ordering an Uber taxi. The app also displayed our driver’s information and rating.
To save time, UberEATS asked us to go outside to pick up the food when the driver was outside. The driver was friendly and gave us our food out the window of the Toyota Rav4.
This service does not offer delivery to the door or the office, they only deliver around the corner and do not require a tip either.
Although this can be inconvenient, it reduces the cost for the driver and makes the service more efficient for everyone.
