This Is How Elon Musk Organizes His Day To Day To Manage His Companies
Within his apparent chaos, Musk has repeatedly told some keys that he follows in his daily routine to get to everything
From his comments on Twitter or even his appearance in some interviews, Elon Musk can seem like he lives in continual chaos. However, the co-founder of Tesla and SpaceX has a series of rules and red lines that allow him to better organize himself daily.
Although Musk has acknowledged that he has gone through times in which he has come to work 16 hours a day or even sleep in the Tesla factory when the company began to launch its first models and brushed bankruptcy on several occasions, it seems that now it has given way to a more relaxed way of life and perhaps, although with less time spent, more productive.
So at least he has told in several recent interviews. These are the tips of Musk, a guy who can be said many things but it cannot be denied that he is busy, organizing his tasks and his day-to-day.
Daily exercise never fails
Musk has admitted on the occasion that he wishes he could do without exercise as he is not a big fan. But, of course, he forces himself to do it. In addition to “lifting some weights,” he also practices taekwondo, karate, judo, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, he recounted on the Joe Rogan podcast. Musk recognizes the importance of staying physically active despite working long hours to achieve physical health and decongest the mind as well.
Divide your time into 5-minute blocks
Musk divides his time into a series of 5-minute slots just as Bill Gates acknowledges doing as a way to increase his productivity. A method that is probably not useful for everyone, but the bottom line is that we must schedule the day in advance, and block the time to put all our energy into a single task without getting distracted.
Do not drink food and alcohol two to three hours before bed
Musk has once said that he sleeps less than 7 hours a night. This is not ideal, but we all know that sometimes meeting the recommended 8 hours of sleep is not possible. Research consistently shows that inadequate sleep predisposes to stress and poor performance, as well as health impairment. However, Musk does try to get to sleep well, and he does so by avoiding food and alcohol 2-3 hours before bedtime for optimal sleep.
Create an anti-distraction environment
To keep up with his busy daily schedule, Musk forgoes most phone calls in favor of email and text messages, so he can handle them asynchronously. Also, he prefers to use a little-known email address to avoid spam in his inbox.
You plan to identify all the key distractions you are dealing with daily and find a way to overcome them. If calls are a time hole, maybe you can leave the phone on hold, or check email only 2 or 3 times a day in a very marked way.
save time to read
Musk explains that even in the most difficult moments, he tries to carve out enough time before going to bed to read and get guidance and inspiration for his activities. Several studies have shown that reading improves confidence, decision-making, empathy, and even prevents depression.
