4. Mahatma Gandhi
He was an Indian lawyer, thinker, and politician who left a great legacy for humanity, due to his great conviction of equality among men, he fought and suffered the unspeakable until he conquered freedom for his people.
His relentless struggle managed to change the political and ideological configuration of the world. The poet Rabindranath Tagore named him Mahatma which means “Great Soul”, although Gandhi always considered it undeserved.
5. Nelson Mandela
South African lawyer, activist, politician, and philanthropist who served as president of his country, he was the first black president to head the executive branch, and also the first to be elected by universal suffrage in his country.
Mandela is and will continue to be, one of the undisputed leaders in the South African struggle and a worldwide reference in the battle for the rights of all people.
